Keys and data are stored locally in Chrome. Messages are sent only to the provider you choose: https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com (Gemini) or https://api.openai.com (OpenAI). Rendering is sanitized.

This privacy policy describes how Browser Agent ("we", "our", "us") handles your data when you use the Chrome extension.

Data We Collect

  • User name: Optional, stored locally
  • Chat messages: Stored locally
  • API keys: Gemini/OpenAI, stored locally
  • Selected text: You can add from pages; processed locally

How We Use Your Data

  • Messages are sent to OpenAI or Google Gemini to generate responses
  • API keys authenticate with providers on your device’s behalf
  • Local storage via Chrome keeps your data on your device

Data Sharing

  • No selling or third‑party sharing beyond your chosen AI provider
  • Providers apply their own privacy policies

Your Rights

  • Clear extension storage to remove all local data
  • Update or remove name and API keys anytime in Settings
  • Delete conversations individually
  • Uninstall to remove remaining local data

Do I need my own API key?

Yes. Add Gemini and/or OpenAI keys in Settings.

Where is my data stored?

Locally via Chrome storage. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Does it work on other browsers?

Built for Chrome MV3 side panel. Chromium variants may vary.

Can it automate web pages?

Not yet—current focus is chat + capture. Automation is on the roadmap.

Install ▾

  1. Add to Chrome.
  2. Open the side panel (toolbar icon or Command+Shift+O).
  3. Open Settings: set your name, default model, and paste API keys.
  4. Start a chat or highlight text and use “Add to chat”.
